Obituary

Roxie D. Peters, 57 of West Milwaukee, WI passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Aurora St. Luke’s Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Roxie was born on July 28, 1964 in Milwaukee the daughter of Bruce and Letha (DeFord) Nero. She grew up in Milwaukee and worked as a waitress in the restaurant industry for the majority of her working career. Roxie was a very independent person. She had a spicy personality and did not hesitate to do what she thought was best. She was lovingly referred to by her nieces and nephews as “Aunty Sassy”. Even though Roxie could be a bit stubborn, she had a heart of gold. She did not hesitate to help a loved one in need no matter the situation. She had a very special bond with her nieces and nephews and they knew they could call on her whenever they needed to and she would be there for them. Roxie liked to have fun and she especially enjoyed a good evening of Bingo. She was about as lucky as one could be when it came to playing Bingo and she won many times. Roxie was loved by her family and friends and she will be missed.

She is survived by: her siblings, Debbie (Daniel) Peters of East Troy, Arlene Drewa of Oshkosh, Martella (Cliff) Beckman of Mukwonago, Harold Nero of Florida, Victor (Margaret) Nero of Greenfield, and John Wayne Nero of Mukwonago; her dear nieces and nephews, Terresa, Mamie, Lonny Jr., Michele, Allen, Danielle, David, Cliff Jr., Ryan, Stacy, Thomas, and Caitlin; great-nieces and nephews, Madalina, Josephine, Alyssia, Quincy, Starlith, Nalani, Adam, Colton, Ryan Jr., Dylan, Stephen, Jaszmine, StarrAnn, Strahan, Bruce, Tyler, and Shellby; and 4 great-great nieces and nephews with one on the way. Roxie is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends.
