Kevin Detlof Obituary

Kevin M. Detlof, 65 of Eagle, died on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

Kevin was born on February 25, 1955 in Waukesha, Wisconsin to Sidney and Dorothy (Stoddard) Detlof. He was a 1972 graduate of Palmyra High School. Kevin worked for numerous places, including Husco in Waukesha where he was a machine operator for over 20 years. He worked third shift at Husco and then came home to his favorite job, driving school bus for Hank’s Transport where he worked for 34 years before retiring in 2016. Kevin was a hard worker and inspired his children to do their best.  He had a wide variety of interests, including camping where he especially loved bonfires with flashlights in his slippers and red sweatpants. Spending time up north with Dave four-wheeling and going to the annual camping fishery with Danny were times cherished by Kevin. He was known to speak fluent “Kevin-ese” and had a great sense of humor. Kevin also had a refined palette, putting ketchup on everything. He loved to spend time with his grandkids and the rest of his family. He will be remembered for his steadfast integrity and he will be dearly missed.

He is survived by: Partner Linda Wall of Eagle, daughters Trista (Eric) Wolter of Dousman, Tara Detlof (Jared Richter) of Iron Ridge, Liz Babb of Nashotah, Tina Biesterveld of East Troy, 5 grandkids Tylie, Elijah, Sami, Max and Autumn, and brothers John (Pam) Detlof of Mukwonago and Earl Detlof of Waukesha. He also survived by a number of other relatives and friends.

Kevin is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Arnie Detlof, Esther Garlock, and Ellsworth “Fudd” Detlof.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kevin's name to the Palmyra-Eagle School District would be greatly appreciated.

A graveside service will be held on May 22, 2021 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Eagle followed by a celebration of Kevin's life at Eagle Village Park.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
