Donald A. Ward

Donald A. Ward, 85, of Mukwonago, WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Angels Grace Hospice Center in Oconomowoc.

Don was born on March 25, 1936 in Wauwatosa, WI the son of Frank and Bessie (Verette) Ward. He grew up in the Milwaukee area and on March 12, 1965 he married Patricia Plevak in Waukegan, IL. The Lord blessed Don and Pat’s union with a son, Michael. After faithfully serving his country in the United States Air Force, Don worked as a Facility Repairs Supervisor for the Wisconsin DNR for over 30 years. He also held a position as a Conditional Use Inspector and Noxious Weed Commissioner with the Town of Eagle during his working career. For leisure, Don loved being outdoors. He was an avid hunter, both bow hunting and gun hunting, and he even did some trapping in his younger years. Along with hunting, he also enjoyed all types of fishing. Don’s son, Mike inherited his dad’s love for the outdoors and Don and Mike shared many memorable hunts and fishing expeditions over the years. Don was very outgoing and loved to make conversation with folks around him. He also was a passionate Packer fan and appreciated a good meal. He was a good man and he will be missed, but forever remembered by those he leaves behind.

Don is survived by: his loving wife, Patricia Ward of Mukwonago, WI; his son, Mike Ward of Mukwonago, WI; his two dear grandchildren, Amanda Ward of Pewaukee, WI and Jennifer (Luke) Glass of Mukwonago, WI; and a dear great-grandson, Everett Jon Glass. He is also survived by his close family friend, Kathy Hollis of Mukwonago and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at St. James Catholic Parish in Mukwonago, WI. Fr. Loyola Amalraj will officiate the mass. Visitation will take place from 10:00AM until the time of mass at the church. Don will be laid to rest in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Eagle, WI immediately following the mass.
