Darrel Chapman Obituary

Darrel R. Chapman, 92, of East Troy, WI passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 11, 2023.

Darrel was born on June 10, 1930 in Eagle, WI the son of Archie and Helen (Dingman) Chapman. He grew up in the Eagle area and graduated from East Troy High School. After completing his schooling, Darrel faithfully served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. He worked in Communications for the Army and this training would assist him in his career in the years to follow. After an honorable discharge, Darrel was united in marriage to Joyce Kuhl on March 12, 1955 in Eagle and the two were blessed with 5 children, Susan, Jeff, Joe, Philip, and Ross. Darrel worked as a Lineman for Bell Telephone Company and later for AT&T. He also farmed his own land for most of his life and raised many animals. He loved farming and remained a true farmer until his passing. For leisure, he enjoyed watching sports of all kinds and particularly rooted for the Brewers, Bucks and Packers. Darrel was kind and easy to talk to. He was generous with his time and always willing to help anyone in need. One of his favorite things to do was go and have breakfast at the local cafes. It was the conversation and relationships with the people that he enjoyed more than the food. Darrel will be greatly missed but he will be forever remembered by those he leaves behind.

He is survived by: his children, Sue Luebke of East Troy, WI, Jeff (Theresa) Chapman of Whitewater, WI, Joe (Cindy) Chapman of East Troy, WI, Philip (Michelle) Chapman of East Troy, WI, and Ross (Lisa) Chapman of Kentucky; his grandchildren, Brittany, Ben, Josh, Jessie, Kayla, Dakota, Katie and Glen; his great-grandchildren, Sierra, Chase, Emberly, Heather, Victor, Summer, Grace, Ava, Daisy, Willow, and Levi; his great-great-grandchildren, Skyler and Neva; and his brother, Russ (Pat) Chapman of Eagle, WI. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Joyce Chapman in 2017, his dear grandson, Jeremiah, his sister, Doris Hackel, and his son-in-law, Dale Luebke.
