Robert "Bob" A. Allen

Robert A. “Bob” Allen, 78, of  Eagle, WI passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 13, 2019 while on vacation in Missouri.

Bob was born on May 30, 1941 in Waukesha, WI the son of Clayton and Ethel (Brown) Allen. He grew up on the family farm in the town of Delafield and had a love for all things mechanical from a very young age. His loving family remembers his talent in the area of mechanics. One of his early projects was putting an Oldsmobile car engine into an old tractor. This made for a dangerously fast tractor, and Bob loved it!  After graduation from Waukesha High School, Bob joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in Minot, North Dakota. After faithfully serving his country, he returned to Wisconsin and opened his first small engine repair shop in Pewaukee. After a few years of operation, Bob moved out to Eagle, WI and opened Allen’s Sales and Service Shop on Main Street and the rest is history. Bob loved his shop and he loved to tinker with engines. He would get up every morning at 6:00AM and get to work on all of his projects. Bob had a special love for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles and he always had a few he was working on. Bob will be remembered as kind and outspoken. He enjoyed chatting with friends and talking politics. He was loved in the Eagle community and he will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

Bob is survived by: his brother, Charlie (Joan) Allen of Concord, WI and his special friend Linda.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials in Bob’s honor may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. 

A friends and family gathering to honor Bob’s life will be held from 1:00PM to 3:00PM on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the Gibson Family Funeral Home, 103 W Eagle Street, Eagle, WI 53119. Bob will be laid to rest following the service in Tabernacle Cemetery in Delafield, WI.
