Joyce D. Teuteberg

Joyce D Teuteberg (Swanson) was called home to heaven the 12th of August, at the age of 85.    

Born in Waukesha, WI on April 24th, 1934 to Harold and Emma Swanson.  She was the oldest of five children.  She went to Waukesha High School and attended Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.

Joyce met Wolferd Teuteberg in high school.  One Christmas Eve he proposed and they were married on May 1st, 1954.  They built a small home in Wales and started their family.  Four sons and one daughter later, they moved to Eagle. 

Joyce enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening, cooking and babysitting children. 

Wolferd and Joyce retired to a cottage in the woods in Spooner. Some of Joyce’s best times were spent hosting her family, playing cards with friends and traveling when she had the chance.

She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark Teuteberg (Bonnie) of Green Bay, David Teuteberg (Jane) of Waukesha, Jon Teuteberg (Sherry) of Jefferson; one daughter and son-in-law Heidi Uebelacker (Dave) of Sun Prairie; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother Neil Swanson (Janice) of Waukesha; two sisters-in-law Delores Swanson of Waukesha and Norma Held (George) of Palmyra; and many nieces and nephews.  

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Wolferd Teuteberg; one son and daughter-in-law Paul and Patricia Teuteberg; one brother Harold Swanson; and two sisters Gloria Follett and Barbara Anderson.

Joyce was loved by her family and will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held from 9:00AM to 11:00AM Friday, August 16, 2019 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Waukesha.  Christian Funeral Service will begin at 11:00AM with the  Rev. Luke C. Werre officiating.  Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery in New Berlin.
