Donna J. Oberholtzer

Donna J. Oberholtzer, 87, of LaCrosse, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2024.

Donna was born on January 27, 1937 in Janesville, WI the daughter of Orville and Velma (Updike) Crusan. Donna was united in marriage Thomas Sowlles on May 19, 1958. The couple would be married twenty years until Thomas’ passing in 1979. Donna would later marry Douglas Oberholtzer on May 16, 1981 and the two would go on to enjoy nearly 30 years of marriage together until Doug’s passing in 2011. God blessed Donna with four children, Mike, Richard, Patricia and Kathy. Donna loved her family and was happiest spending time with those closest to her. She also enjoyed sewing, baking and fishing with her husband. She was warm and talkative and made friends wherever she went. Donna was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she will be missed by her family.

She is survived by: her children, Mike (Dawn) Sowlles of Oconomowoc, Dr. Richard (the late Amy, and the late Ann) Sowlles of Hamilton, IL, Patricia (the late David) Zirpoli of La Crosse, and Kathy (the late Christopher) Wall of La Crosse, Mark (Janice) Oberholtzer, Shannon (Marelly) Oberholtzer, Sherri (Erik) Winterfeldt, and Sean (Erika) Oberholtzer. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Donna is further survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her dear husbands, Thomas and Douglas.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30AM on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the Gibson Family Funeral Home in Eagle, WI. (499 Elkhorn Road, Eagle, WI 53119). Visitation will take place from 10:30AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
