Obituary
Wilmer “Bill” Edward John Bartels, 94, of Triplett, MO died on Monday, March 1, 2010 at the Life Care Center of Brookfield, MO. Funeral services will be held at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick, MO, Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 2:30 P.M. Rodger Kelsey officiating. Visitation will be prior to the funeral from 1:00 – 2:30 P.M. Burial will be in the McCullough Cemetery at Triplett, MO. He was born on July 14, 1915 at Guymon, OK, the son of Henry and Etta ( Coulter) Bartels. He was married to Hortense A. Scott on August 7, 1943 at Chicago, IL. She preceded him in death on January 18, 1988.
He had been a farmer for almost seventy years. He was a member of the Brookfield Jehovah’s Witnesses. He is survived by one son, David Lee Bartels and his wife Mary of Triplett, MO; one daughter, Debbie Unternaehrer and her husband Bob of Brunswick, MO; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harold in 1952 and Amos in 1982. Memorials may be made to: the Alzheimer’s Association.
