Paula Sue McCumber
Paula Sue McCumber, age 68, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2010 at her home.
Paula Sue was born January 12, 1942 in Carrollton, Missouri, the daughter of Quenten “Pete” and Lula May (Bolen) Harden. She attended schools in Sugartree, Wakenda and Carrollton.
On November 5, 1988 she married Terry McCumber in Carrollton. He survives of the home.
Paula Sue owned and operated Main Street Restaurant from 1992 until 2007 where she was well known for her wonderful homemade pies. She served as a Councilwoman of Ward III from 2006-2009. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carrollton and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge where she had served as Past Noble Grand.
In addition to her husband, Terry, Paula Sue is survived by four children, Stephen Ward, Carrollton, Missouri, Marla Ward, Carrollton, Missouri, Kelly McCumber, Lenexa, Kansas, Curtis McCumber, St. Joseph, Missouri, two sisters, Trella Ward, Carrollton, Missouri, Thresa O’Dell, Carrollton, Missouri, four grandchildren, Zachary Warren and Kelcie Standley, Carrollton, Missouri, Cayne and Kyle McCumber, St. Joseph, Missouri.
Her parents, first husband, Donnie Connor, and one niece, Quenetta Stark, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend M. R. Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation will be from7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.
The family suggests contributions be made to H.E.L.P. Services Cancer Fund or Village Hospice in memory of Paula Sue. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton MO 64633.
